Cathy: This a prequel to the Hannibal Lecter franchise, detailing his descent into eccentric madness. Hannibal is a boy at the end of World War II and looses his family. He grows up in an orphanage, then sets out to France to find an aunt he never met. She takes him in and sends him to medical school. He goes back to his old home to retrieve some things that were left behind, and finds one of the men who killed his family. He hunts down the others. The movie wasn't as suspensful as I expected, nor as gory, but the lead performaces were all masterful. Stephen Walters has a minor part as one of the ill-fated soldiers. A short featurette mentions that he's claustrophobic, so his last scene was very challenging for him to shoot.
