Cathy: Neal McDonough has a small part as an officer on the assault of Iwo Jima. This film centers on three men who lifted one of the flags on Iwo Jima, then were taken out of active duty and sent on a US bond tour. The three struggle with their battle memories and try to reassimilate back into civilian life with various difficulties. It was an interesting and touching film, but I think it should be seen with it's follow-up, "Letters from Iwo Jima", also directed by Clint Eastwood, which focuses on the Japanese perspective of the battle and completes the historical picture.
