Cathy: This movie is about a second-in-command London gangster with a thirst for power, played by Paul Bettany. Doug Allen has a supporting role as one of the gang members. Bettany gives a compelling, raw performance, but in the aged scenes his character is played by Malcom MacDowell, who I found boring. The rest of the actors just wore make-up to look older, so it seemed pretty pointless to replace Bettany half-way through the movie. Doug doesn't have many lines, but his dvd rentals are few and far between so I guess it's worth it if you want to see him. Otherwise, Bettany is the best reason to see this.
