Cathy: This movie is based on the true story of Vince Papale, who went to an
open try-out for the Philidelphia Eagles in the 70s and made the team, reviving the fanbase and jump-starting the players out of a slump. Mark Wahlberg plays Papale, and he gives a good performance. Kirk Acevedo plays the supporting role of Papale's best friend from the old neighborhood. The movie is predictable, but the cast is likable and it has a feel-good message. I wouldn't say rush out and rent it, but if you're flipping channels or see it coming up in TV Guide, I might be worth setting your VCR or Tivo, especially if you like Kirk.
